Ministries

Master Clubs: Sun and Shield offers the Master Clubs program for young people ages 3-14. This is an excellent program to promote spiritual growth and development of young minds and in the maturing process hide God's Word in their hearts. As our teenagers get older some go on to find a place of service in this ministry of our church. http://www.masterclubs.org/

Bus Ministry: In 1994 The Lord led us to start a bus ministry. We Currently run 2 routes, one in the Trico Marana area and another in the Picture Rocks Area of Avra Valley that average about 50 children each week between the two routes.

Junior Church: Held each Sunday during the 10:30am Service for children up to 12 years of age.

Sun and Shield Christian Academy: For a child's solid Christian education and development, we provide a Christian Academy. We educate children in the spiritual, intellectual, social and physical realm with dedicated and caring teachers.

Youth Ministry: Led by our Youth Pastor, Tim Walker, we currently have approximately thirty teenagers (ages 13-18) in our youth group. Many of our teens are actively involved in other ministries within our church. Our desire is that they will continue to mature spiritually as they grow physically because they are the next generation of church leaders.

Homebuilders Ministry: Our newest ministry is the Home Builders Class, led by our Assistant Pastor Kurt Kramer. This class is designed to help couples starting out to first of all, grow closer to the Lord individually, then as a couple through family devotions, and finally as parents trying to raise their children “in the nurture and admonition of the Lord”. Along with encouraging Bible study and prayer, they also explore practical areas such as finances and discipline according to God’s plan. Through the weekly Sunday School class and monthly fellowship opportunities, couples are instructed and challenged to “build up their home” as God would have it be and to be able to withstand the pressures and influences of the world.
