2008-2009 Fee Schedule
*Registration Fee: For every student $125
**
Athletic Fee: (students in 7th-12th who participate in sports) $100
*The Registration fee is non-refundable and
is due at the time of
enrollment. For those students
registered by March 31st the fee is reduced to $50.
**The Athletic Fee is
non-refundable once a student has completed his first month at
Sun & Shield.

Is
there financial aid?
-
Parents can apply for
scholarships (up to 75% off tuition) with Arizona School Choice
Trust and The Institute for Better Education. See the
registrar for applications and information.

Parents who are
responsible for referring another student will receive a $200 credit
towards their school bill after the referred child has completed one
semester. There is an unlimited amount of referral scholarships
that a family can earn.

What curriculum is used
There is a variety of
curricula used. All grades use Saxon math. The junior and
senior high grades use primarily A Beka. We also use A Beka phonics in
the elementary as well as Veritas Press, Bob Jones, and Shurley grammar.

What are the hours?

Monday - Thursday:
8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Friday: 8:30
a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Students may be
dropped off at 8:00 a.m.

What
special classes are offered?
The 1st-6th grade
classes have weekly instruction in music, art, and Spanish. Students may
pay for private piano lessons. Details are arranged through the
piano instructor.

Are there
before/after hours programs?
Not at this time.
However, students in grades 6th-12th who are academically eligible, may
participate in basketball and volleyball. During the playing
seasons there are practices after school two days a week as well as
weekly games.

Is there a dress code?
-
All students
are required to wear a solid colored polo shirt.
-
Ladies are
to wear black, khaki, navy, or denim skirts that reach to the knee
or lower. Grades K-6 may wear knee-length shorts (i.e. gauchos or
culottes) and during P.E. by ladies in grades 7-12.

Gentleman
are to wear pants in above colors. (Shorts may be worn in
grades K-4 only) On Wednesdays, gentlemen in 7th-12th
are to wear a dress shirt and tie in place of the usual polo.
On Fridays only, gentlemen in grades 7-12 may wear denim/jeans.
(Jeans must not be cargo style, or too baggy, and must be worn with
a belt.)

Is there transportation?
The school does not
provide transportation at this time. However, there are several
moms who participate in car-pooling from various areas of town.
